My Singapore Pet Peeve

There are 30-plus people at the bus stop or walking in the same crosswalk, and the rickshaw driver pulls up, calls me - me, specifically - down, and says "Miss - rickshaw ride for you???"

What the heck, man. Why do you single ME out? Do I LOOK like I want a ride in your rickshaw? That's right, no, I don't. And while I'm at it, can I put in a request that you tell all of your rickshaw-driving buddies to not single me out? Or, if you must, why not ask an Asian person nearby if they want a rickshaw ride, and then you can come ask me - you know, just so you're not so obvious about singling me out. That would be great. Thanks.
